Purpose of this blog

Hello Everyone,
I have such a response to my post on my other blog. I have heard from so many women who have had similar experiences-to a greater or lesser extent. With every women I come in contact with I am amazed at how many of us are out there.
Starting this blog was suggested to me and after thinking about it, I think it is needed. A single place where we can all share our stories. Share our problems. Let each other know what is working for us, and then one day help the medical community find the answer to why and hopefully help.
As I receive stories, updates, and info that I find or are given I will post them here. If you have anything to share you can email me at judeebeeforme@yahoo.com
Please become a follow if you have had, are having, or know someone who has had this problem.

Update on Nursing

Still have small break outs if I don't take my meds.
We've started weening. We are down to 3 feedings a day. I'm really looking forward to finding out if my hives completely go away once I completely stop nursing.
We'll see.

  2. Please dun stop breastfeeding. It will not stop the Hives. After giving birth to my 2nd child 3 1/2 yrs back, I started having hives (2 weeks post partum). I weaned her off 26 weeks later. My hives continue till now :(

Did any of you take the epidural? I am suspecting it is a reaction to it. I did not take it for my 1st delivery. The hives only started after my 2nd delivery which I took the epidural. I total-breastfed both. My 1st for 18 months.

I did not have an epidural and I'm still having hives. So I wouldn't point at the epidural as your cause.

I did have to have a course of penicillin while in labor because of Group B Strep, though. Anyone else have that?

  4. I had a course of penicillin for group B strep as well and I just started getting hives two days ago. My son is almost 4 weeks old. Never had any hives with my first child but wasn't positive for the group B strep during that pregnancy. Interesting...

  5. I had a natural delivery and no antibiotics and I've had hives for three weeks with no end in sight.

  6. FYI In comment to the epidural. I had my son at the midwife's home with no meds of any sort. Its not always the breastfeeding, there are, I believe many causes for the hives, not all are directly baby related. Even those that are nursing/breastfeeding related could have multiple causes with in that. Until we can get someone in the medical community to take this problem seriously we are not going to know what it is.
thanks for all your stories and comments.
